Physocarpus opulifolius 'Tiny Wine Gold'

Dense multi-stemmed shrub with small lobed golden-lime leaves and reddish young stems. Peeling bark develops with age, which suits bonsai.

Work planned for late winter or early spring.

What to expect
Fast growth once settled, often 30 cm or more a year in a good pot. Leaves drop in autumn and burst back in spring.
Feeding
Every 28 days, Apr–Aug, with Balanced liquid feed, half strength

    Autumn colour coming in, with some leaf edges browning. Normal for the time of year.

  2. Repotted

    Approximate date. Into used compost as a neutral holding mix to protect the roots over dormancy.
