Luma apiculata 'Glanleam Gold'
Already tree-shaped: a single trunk, a low branch sweeping left and a dense crown of small cream-edged leaves, pink when young, with a few shoots from the base. Labelled Myrtus luma 'Glanleam Gold' (Luma apiculata). Work planned for late winter or early spring.
A possible informal upright, with small leaves and peeling cinnamon-coloured bark.
An evergreen patio shrub for a sheltered spot.
'Glanleam Gold' was discovered at Glanleam House on Valentia Island, off the coast of Ireland.
Six cuttings taken; recorded as their own entry.
Approximate date. Into used compost as a neutral holding mix to protect the roots over dormancy.
For a plant called Goldmember, only the goldest classic would do.
