Cotoneaster (likely C. dielsianus or C. simonsii; tbc)
A twiggy, multi-stemmed cotoneaster with small rounded leaves, deciduous and turning yellow. A few leaves have dark spots. Berries or flowers are needed to pin down the species.
Bonsai: the fine twigs and several trunks offer scope for a clump or broom style.
Leaf close-ups confirm a small-leaved deciduous cotoneaster, probably C. dielsianus or C. simonsii. The dark spots look like ordinary leaf spot on leaves about to fall.
Nursery-stock check: scratch-tested alive and pushing new shoots.
