Thuja (likely occidentalis, perhaps 'Smaragd'; tbc)
A columnar thuja with flat sprays of bright green foliage, browned patches through the middle and plenty of dead inner growth.
Brush out the dead inner foliage and cut dead twigs back to green, but never into bare brown wood: thujas can't regrow from it.
If confirmed as Thuja, a possible upright conifer design.
An evergreen garden specimen; eventual size depends on the cultivar.
Nursery-stock check: scratch-tested alive and shooting.
Joe Musashi leaps through evergreen forests. This one is mostly hedge.
