Mentha aquatica (likely)
A separate mint plant (not a division of the bottom one) in a mesh basket in the channel between the pools. Likely water mint too. The round-leaved creeper in the basket is a separate plant (tbc).
Cut the sprawling stems back in late autumn and it'll come back bushier in spring.
A leafy feature along the channel, contributing texture and seasonal flowers to the pond planting.
Water mint is one of the parents of peppermint, a natural cross between water mint and spearmint.
Sprawling and healthy, with a few late flowers, spilling over the stones on both sides of the channel.
Swim through underwater forests of weed and kelp.
