Marginal baskets (bottom end)

Iris, Juncus, Mentha and others

A group of planting baskets at the bottom end of the pond. Contents as far as known:

• Flag iris (likely yellow flag, Iris pseudacorus): the broad sword-shaped leaves

• Rushes (Juncus, species tbc)

• Water mint (likely Mentha aquatica): the smaller division split off from the big mint in the bottom

• Small round-leaved creeper at the basket edges: possibly creeping Jenny or brooklime, tbc

• A small variegated grassy plant in its own basket, tbc

Yellow flag iris gets big and spreads fast, so keep it in its basket and split it every few years.
