Young, thin single-stem tree with a small cluster of glossy leaves at the top, supported by a thin cane. Grown in a large grey planter. Variety and rootstock tbc.

Bought as a grafted whip in a bundle and grown on. Rootstock tbc.

Care & updates

What to expect
Flowering and cropping depend on maturity, variety, pollination and growing conditions. First useful harvests may take several seasons. Flowers Apr–May.
Feeding
Every 28 days, Mar–Jul, with High-potash fruit feed
  1. Corrected

    Turned out to be a pear, not an apple. Variety and rootstock tbc.

  2. Root care and repot

    Lifted out of its previous pot with very little effort. Given some root care and repotted for overwintering. Hoping this will help it establish more strongly.

  3. Observation

    Weak: thin stem with sparse foliage, some leaves reddening and dropping. Hoping a proper winter chill will help it bounce back next spring.
