Cavia porcellus
All black, and six. Came home with Lady from a chain pet shop. She has two settings: asleep, or up against the bars wanting your attention.
Still gives the other pigs the runaround. Out in the summer pen a few weeks ago, she was jumping clean over one of their houses.
We've since upped our pig game: the herd gets a good deal more than the chain shops' advice suggests, and it now grows by rescue and rehoming only.
The pigs live indoors through the colder months and spent the summer in a home-built pen on the grass. The pen has since come down and is being recycled.
Tinks spends as much time with the pigs as she can. It is not what you think: Tinks is built differently.
In Switzerland it is against the law to keep a guinea pig on its own.
Added to the catalogue. Indoors for the colder months.
