Hibiscus 'Carousel Red Wine'

Hibiscus moscheutos Carousel Red Wine ('Tahi61')

A hardy perennial hibiscus (rose mallow) with deeply lobed purple leaves that colour up orange and red in autumn, which is how it passed for a maple. Huge dark red flowers, 15–18 cm across, in late summer. Likes sun and moist soil; hardy to about −15°C.

Part of the border bed, planted out in spring 2026.
