Two more prospects
A large cotoneaster and a rather sparse shrub, with possible bonsai plans for both.

The urge struck, so I nipped to the local garden centre and came home with two more prospects.
The first is a large cotoneaster with some promising deadwood and plenty of structure to work with. A strong bonsai candidate, though I may grow it on first.
The second is rather sparse, but a flex test at the garden centre convinced me to give it a try. There are some interesting shapes waiting to be brought out. It has since been confirmed as a Viburnum tinus.
I am thinking about tidying it and wiring it over winter. Better photos once they’ve both had a tidy.
There was also a small-pot succulent with a surprisingly tall stem. It looks like a golden sedum, though the identification is still provisional.
