Pigs, and a visitor
The guinea pigs join the Creatures tab, along with a visiting dachshund puppy.
The Creatures tab has been missing some residents. The guinea pigs are now in: Poppy, Calico and Muffin, with Lady in The archive.
Poppy is black, six, and either asleep or asking for attention. She still gives the others the runaround: a few weeks ago she was jumping over one of the houses in the summer pen. Calico is stone deaf and wheeks at vegetables that aren't there, which sets the others off. Muffin is ginger, shy, and smart with it. Calico and Muffin came from a local guinea pig rescue about a year ago.
Lady came home with Poppy and ran the herd from then on: regal, gentle, and almost as fond of attention as Poppy. She died on Saturday 3 October.
They spent the summer in a home-built pen on the grass. That has come down for recycling and they're indoors for the colder months; not that it's been much colder.
Also added: Mable, a friend's dachshund puppy and a service dog hopeful. Not a regular, so strictly she doesn't qualify. Look at her, though.
