Night shift
Lithops seeds, a homemade cactus mix, and eight water bottles retrieved from the recycling.

I found Kirsty outside after dark, making cactus mix. The lithops seeds had arrived and she was not waiting until morning.
The mix is coir, perlite, cactus gravel and a pinch of volcanic rock, all of it ours. Premium stuff; expensive from a bag, cheap from a bucket.
Lithops are apparently tricky to raise from seed, so we'll keep an eye on them. Three seeds to a pot, plus as much silver sand as came in the pack. Some of the seeds stuck to the packet; improvised bonsai tweezers to the rescue. We hopefully have eight sets of three.
Each pot sits under a homemade humidifier, which is a water bottle. Rooting through the recycling for my own scrunched-up bottles was not a proud moment. They won't be on there forever, but we need to watch the moisture.
Whilst I was in there, some of the windowsill residents moved into the tent. They're tropical plants, so it will suit them nicely for the winter. The impatiens and begonia have gone in too. They would probably prefer a little less of it, but they will at least survive until spring.
