Buds, cuttings and a raspberry frame
McCrispy has buds, the cuttings tray has twelve new residents, and the raspberry has a frame.

Mr McCrispy has seen fit to produce flower buds. Not open yet. No pressure.
More cuttings today: three yellow gazania, three white gazania and six from Goldmember. The white-flowered gazania was in bloom too, so it has an updated photo.
The poor cotoneaster was pot-bound. Its roots were gently teased out and it was repotted for winter protection, with as little disturbance as possible. The juniper’s old ceramic pot had a vacancy.
The raspberry canes rescued from a local supermarket have had a move. One cane gave us a little fruit this year, but the important thing was getting the plant happy again. It now has four good new canes for next year.
Kirsty made a frame from old posts and garden wire along the side of one of the planned vegetable beds, and transplanted the raspberry beside it. The beds are still a work in progress; once they are finished, we will put them on the site.
Kirsty visited the local nursery with her mum and came home with another batch of finds: a tayberry, a loganberry, a thornless blackberry, a layered box of live moss, two variegated cordylines, Deutzia ‘Strawberry Fields’ and a Washingtonia palm. The three berry plants will share a group photo until we establish which pot is which. Everything’s under cover and none of it was bone dry.
